Chatmoss Border Terriers evolved as a result of the purchase of "Archie", Brave Rebellion at Chatmoss ShCM, National Working Terrier Federation Champion Terrier at (Capesthorn Hall) 2010 as a recuperation pet following illness in February 2008.  We decided to take part in the world of dog showing and at the second ever show, Archie qualified for Crufts. Since then Archie has gone on to class wins and regular placings at Champ Shows and has excelled in Open shows taking many class wins, group and puppy group wins and regular placings; Best of Breed, Best Puppy in Show and Best in Show not to mention Best Border Terrier and Champion Terrier at Working Shows under many very well regarded UK and International judges. Archie qualified for The National Working Terrier Federation Champion of Champions 2010. Being the only Border Terrier in a line up of 36 terriers, we are proud of the fact that at 20 months old he made it down to the last 12, being beaten in the end by a very nice Lakey which took N.W.T.F. Champion of Champions and a JRT which took Reserve Champion of Champions.

Archie has earned his Kennel Club, Show Certificate of Merit (ShCM) and passed his assessment to be a Pets as Therapy dog.

We then went on to acquire "Lily", Foxthorn Texas Star at Chatmoss. She was supposed to go to Texas, hence the name, however we`re very glad she didn`t. Lily took four first places and two second places in her first two shows. Lily has taken up where Archie left off with many honours such as Reserve Best Puppy in Show, under esteemed judge Liz Dunhill, Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Show, Best of Breed, Puppy Group 1, Group 1, with some excellent critiques especially from Mrs Helen Bakewell, stating that "...she is aptly named as a star...".

Lily has earned her Kennel Club, Show Certificate of Merit (ShCM), Kennel Club Stud Book Number and  passed her assessment to be a Pets as Therapy dog.

We subsequently acquired "Ruby", Rhozzum Virtue at Chatmoss, from Marie Sharp and what a lovely addition she has been. Ruby took Best Puppy in Breed, Best Terrier Puppy in Show and Best of Breed before deciding she didn`t realy enjoy showing too much. More recently Ruby has had her and our first litter by Finn, Champion Brumberhill Benchmarked JW ShCM. All puppies were born healthy and have grown into lovely bundles of fun for their new owners around the UK. Ruby enjoys being out in the fields and woods where she regularly participates in an Eco Friendly Pest Management Scheme.

"Eevi", Cowlishaw Silver Lady by Chatmoss joined the family, being the first available daughter sired by Archie. Eevi qualified for Crufts 2012 at her very first show, The Joint Border Terrier Championship Show where she was placed 3rd at the age of 6 months 1 day. 1 day later she went Best Puppy in Breed and Terrier Puppy Group 1 and 2 weeks later she was Reserve Best Bitch Puppy in Show at Yorks, Lancs & Cheshire Border Terrier Club Open Show.  Eevi went on to qualify 3 times for Crufts 2012 before moving to The Isle of Man to live with Chatmoss King Orry.

Harri, Brumberhill Benediction of Chatmoss, has now joined our family and what a priviledge that is.  He comes from one of the best kennels in the world and has many of the top dogs and kennels in his pedigree which stems from terrific breeding over a long period by knowlegable breeders. At just 7 months he was awarded Champion Puppy and Champion Terrier Overall at The Cheshire Game Fair.

"Saffi"...Chatmoss Chelsea Girl (Champion Brumberhill Benchmarked JW  ShCM X Rhozzum Virtue at Chatmoss) stayed with us from Rubys litter and is taking on the lines and characteristics of the excellent long term breeding of both the Rhozzum and Brumberhill kennels.  Saffi qualified for Crufts 2012 at her first show and has gone on to take Best Puppy in Breed on numerous occasions along with Terrier Puppy Group 1, 2 & 3.

We look forward to our future with our family of Border Terriers, whether by the fireside, in the fields or in the show ring; first and foremost they are our family pets who give us great pleasure and we would like to "steal" an excellent statement made by another Border Terrier loving family.......We live for our dogs....not off them...!!!

Note.. where we have been informed by owners or breeders that certain dogs have won Working Show Champion Terrier status, we will include this within our dogs pedigree page. We feel it important to recognise both the Kennel Club and Working & Trials side of terriers; after all, Border Terriers are supposed to be "essentially a working terrier"., not just good in a show ring.
